Legion of Blue Introduces New Executive Board

Legion of Blue is excited to announce changes to the Executive Board for the 2017-2018 school year. We would like to thank our seniors for their contributions to the student section this year.

Our former President, Gregory Zelinske, will graduate with a degree in Secondary Education and pursue a career as a high school teacher. Our former Webmaster, Michael Kwasnik, will be graduating with a degree in Meteorology with a focus in forecasting and communication. He will commission in the Navy and begin flight school. Our former Senior Officer Gavin Vanstone, a member of the Schreyer Honors College, will graduate with a degree in biology. He plans to continue onto graduate school.

We are excited to introduce our new President, Nicholas Malizia, a Senior double majoring in Advertising and Political Science. Malizia served as Vice-President for the past two school years and as Social Media Manager for the 2016-2017 school year.

Our new Vice-President will be Andrew Flatley, a Junior majoring in Advertising with minors in History and Business. Flatley served as a Freshman Officer in the 2015-2016 year, and as Treasurer during the 2016-2017 school year.

Mercedes Fraistat is returning as our Secretary for her second consecutive year. She is a Junior majoring in Telecommunications. Fraistat also serves as a co-chair of our Fundraising Committee.

Our new Treasurer is Elizabeth Cooney, a Sophomore majoring in Public Relations with a minor in Digital Media Trends & Analytics as well as History. Cooney joined the board as a member of the Freshmen Council in 2016-2017.

Our returning executive officers are: Alex Trias (Senior, Supply Chain & Information Systems), Shannon Jacob (Junior, Biological Engineering), and Joseph Nadonley (Sophomore, Civil Engineering)

After a difficult interview process, we are excited to welcome our new officers to the executive board: Noah Bergren (Senior, Meteorology), Thomas Carvo (Sophomore, Meteorology), and Vincent Nardella (Sophomore, Graphic Design).

We are incredibly excited for the upcoming basketball season. We will continue our mission of creating one of the most entertaining and impactful student sections in the country while supporting Penn State Basketball.
